G-20 Leaders Welcome HLP Report

At the G-20 Leaders Summit in Russia on September 5-6, the heads of state issued a declaration indicating that they "welcome the contribution of the report prepared by the High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, which sets out some illustrative goals." The Panel believes that if the illustrative goals were all carried out, the five transformative shifts it has recommended would be achieved.

The High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda today released “A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development,” a report which sets out a universal agenda to eradicate extreme poverty from the face of the earth by 2030, and deliver on the promise of sustainable development.

The Panel



In July 2012, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced the 27 members of a High-level Panel to advise on the global development framework beyond 2015, the target date for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Where do we go from here?



The Panel's report was submitted to the Secretary-General in May 2013 and will be part of the ongoing discussion on the world's next development agenda, which will succeed the Millennium Development Goals. Click here to be part of the conversation.
